2025 Coaching Staff

Varsity Head Coach: Craig Hunsberger

Craig attended Pennridge High School, where he played varsity lacrosse for four years and served as team captain for two years. He continued his lacrosse career at Widener University from 2011 to 2012 before transferring to Elizabethtown College, where he played from 2013 to 2014. Over the course of his college career, Craig recorded 42 goals, 12 assists, 182 ground balls, and a 51% faceoff win percentage.

Craig began his coaching career in 2018 as an Assistant Coach at Souderton High School under Mark Princehorn. In 2021, he was named Head Coach, leading the team to three playoff appearances and achieving a record of 41-14 during his tenure.

Varsity Asst Coach: Joe Szatmary

Joe played as a close defenseman at CB South for four years, serving as captain for both the football and lacrosse teams. He earned 2nd Team All-League honors during his high school career. In addition to his playing experience, Joe coached youth lacrosse throughout high school and played club lacrosse for both Twist and LB3.

After high school, Joe attended Albright College to play lacrosse before transferring to Montco, where he switched his major to Exercise Science. During this time, he also started his own strength training gym.

Joe has now been coaching at Souderton for four years, where he also writes the team’s strength and conditioning programs for the off-season.

Varsity Asst Coach: Stephen Blue
Stephen Lax had a distinguished lacrosse career, beginning with his four years at Souderton High School, where he was named captain for three of those seasons. Despite an injury that shortened his junior year and the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic during his senior year, Stephen left a lasting impact on the program. Over the course of 41 games, he scored 103 goals and recorded 57 assists.

Outside of Souderton, Stephen honed his skills through various competitive programs, including Fusion and Dukes outdoor club teams, as well as the Penn Lax All-Stars and Team USA box lacrosse teams. His dedication to the sport led him to Drexel University, where he continued to pursue his passion for lacrosse.

In 2021, Stephen transitioned into coaching, serving as the JV coach. Under his guidance, the JV program flourished, finishing with an impressive 16-2 record.

JV Head Coach: Eric Hernandez

Eric graduated from Pennridge High School in 2013, where he played four years of varsity lacrosse. As a sophomore, he set a school record for single-season goals with 56. Over his high school career, he finished with 160 goals and 81 assists, which, at the time, was the most points in school history. He began coaching youth lacrosse while still in high school and continued to coach at the youth level for several years. Eventually, he was brought on as the JV Head Coach at Souderton.

JV Asst Coach: Ryan Candelori

Ryan is a 2018 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School, where he helped lead the team to its first-ever state playoff appearance. Known as a “Swiss Army Knife,” Ryan has played nearly every position throughout his lacrosse career. During his three years at King’s College, he excelled as a goalie, defensive midfielder, and offensive midfielder.

Ryan completed his 3+2 degree program at the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Vice President of the Men’s Club Lacrosse team. Under his leadership, the team won the GLLL title in 2023. In addition to his playing career, Ryan is also a coach for Black Bear Lacrosse Club, where he shares his knowledge and passion for the sport with the next generation of players.

JV Asst Coach: Josh Korpics

Josh began his lacrosse career at Quakertown High School, specializing as a defenseman and long pole midfielder, and served as the defensive captain for two years. After graduating, he enlisted in the Marine Corps as an artillery forward observer. Following four years of active duty, Josh attended Penn State to pursue a teaching degree, which led him to the Souderton Area School District. There, he rekindled his passion for lacrosse and has enjoyed assisting the team for the past two years.
